You've probably had squid before. Shrimpers catch those in their nets along with the shrimp and Mr.Catchot used to give them to us. We particularly enjoyed the tentacles, which aren't quite as chewy as the bodies. I've never heard of hot roasted squid jerky but it's sounds good.
Very interesting! I had calamari one year (actually dinner before my prom junior year!) and it was too icky for me! You are definitely more adventurous than me!
